Tugs can be equipped with different types of fenders — each serves a specific purpose.
Bow cylindrical fender device
Mounted on the bow (stern) of the tug, typically used when pushing ships with flared bows and in open-sea conditions.
M-shaped and W-shaped fenders
These fenders provide large contact surfaces to reduce pressure on the hull. Ribbed surfaces ensure excellent grip.
D-shaped rubber fender
D-shaped fender devices are often used as rubbing strakes to protect the vessel during maneuvering and mooring.
Square C-shaped and D-shaped rubbing strake
Used on piers and berths for small vessels, mooring pontoons, and as guide piles for floating structures and push boats.
Block fenders
Block fenders are designed for heavy-duty applications. They are built to withstand very high loads and are used on tugs.
