On June 29, a high-speed police boat of Project 14M of the North-Eastern LU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on transport was put into operation in Yakutsk. It was named in honor of the head of the inspection of the Yakut linear department of internal affairs on river transport, police lieutenant Bair Tsybikov, who died while extinguishing a fire on board the motor ship Meteor, and was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.
“Bair died 20 years ago while doing his duty. He perished in a fire in August 1996. Today we pay tribute to the hero by naming the boat in his honor," said the lieutenant's colleagues.
The hero's mother, Oktyabrina Bakhtigareeva, the Minister for the Development of Civil Society Institutions of the Republic, Sardana Guryeva, and the head of the Far Eastern Transport Police, took part in the ceremonial launching of the vessel. Head of the UT of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Far Eastern Federal District Sergei Serikov.
The documents for the operation of the named watercraft were handed over to the Head of the North-East Linear Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Transport Alexander Gorbunov by the Director of the shipping company "Ozernaya Verf" Konstantin Buryanov.
«Today, our comrade symbolically returned to his native team. He will become a loyal assistant and will contribute to ensuring security and law and order in the river expanses of Yakutia,»,— the transport police officers are convinced.
According to them, police lieutenant Bair Tsybikov lived a short life, but managed to do a lot and left as a hero. By decree of the President of Russia dated January 29, 1997, he was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.
