On July 31, the Zhatai Ship Repair and Shipbuilding Plant (Sakha Republic) launched the TO-1549 river-sea tanker, which had been modernized at the plant. In particular, double sides and a double bottom were installed on the vessel in accordance with the new technical regulations. The ship, which had found a second life after being launched, headed to the village of Peleduy.
Just five years ago, the shipping company was in a difficult economic situation. With great difficulty, it was possible to prevent the sale of LORP shares with their subsequent transfer to the ownership of the republic. At present, on the instructions of the Russian government, an investment project for a new shipbuilding plant in Zhatai has been developed with the participation of the federal, republican budgets and extra-budgetary sources.
Before launching, the TO-1549 tanker underwent a church consecration ceremony. The abbot of the Spassky Monastery of the Yakut diocese, Nikon, conveyed congratulations from Bishop Roman... Bishop of Yakutsk and Lensk: "God grant that today's event and the consecration ceremony that we will perform now will be the beginning of that great revival, the great future for which many people are working for the good of Yakutia."
The shipping company's CEO Sergey Larionov gave the command to begin launching the TO-1549 tanker, which has undergone extensive hull modernization: installation of a double bottom and double sides, and to simultaneously begin towing the sea tanker from the dock in the village of Peleduy.
Both vessels are participating in the fleet modernization program.
The minimum program is This is the modernization of the entire oil tanker fleet using funding from the republican budget in the amount of 550 million rubles. It includes the construction of two oil tankers at the Nobel Brothers Shipyard, as well as the modernization of the TO-1549 tanker, 3 Lenaneft-type tankers, a 2000 treatment plant, a multipurpose vessel SPN-704 and the completion of the Evgeny Chistyakov tanker at the Zhatay base.
Together with the Development Corporation of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), work is underway to resume shipbuilding at the Zhatay shipyard. The comprehensive program for the modernization of the Yakut fleet is included in the federal program for the development of the Arctic. Financing from the federal budget is planned in the amount of over 4.1 billion rubles, extra-budgetary sources will amount to 1.6 billion rubles. The design capacity of the shipyard is up to 10 ships per year.
