At the Lotus shipyard in the city of Narimanov in the Astrakhan region, a four-deck vessel was laid down, 141 m long, 16.5 m wide and with a capacity of 300 passengers.
The PV300VD concept vessel belongs to the "river-sea" class, which is in demand on the sea and river cruise market, designed in the 5-star "floating hotel" version with full-fledged balconies-terraces, with a swimming pool and a bow observation lounge. It will also have restaurants, gyms, spas, and a sauna. The liner is designed for cruises in the Black and Caspian Seas. According to preliminary data, the cost of the project will be 2.5 billion rubles, with a payback period of 15 to 25 years.
This is the first liner laid down in the history of modern Russia. Construction will be carried out by order of the Moscow River Shipping Company. Completion date is 2019.
The last time a similar ship was launched in the USSR was in 1957. There were only two such vessels in the country. The rest were built to order at European shipyards, since shipbuilding in the Soviet Union was focused on the military and fishing fleet.
