On November 11, 2016, the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Marine Rescue Service of Rosmorrechflot" signed the acceptance certificate for the lead tugboat with fire-fighting functions of the TG17 "Penay" project (construction No. 2100).
The shipyard builder is the Navashino Okskaya Shipyard (part of UCL Holding).
The designer is Marine Engineering Bureau.
The TG17 project vessel is designed for:
It is a steel vessel with two full-steering propellers with fixed-pitch propellers in nozzles, with an extended forecastle superstructure and two-tier wheelhouse, with a working deck in the stern part, with an engine room located in the middle part of the vessel, with a cargo crane. Navigation area—marine areas corresponding to navigation area R1. According to the radio equipment, it is assumed to be used in areas A1, A2, A3.
The vessel has the following main characteristics:
RS Class: KM (*) Arc 4 R1 AUT3-C FF3WS Tug.
Two full-steering propellers with fixed-pitch propellers in nozzles are installed in the stern of the vessel, providing the vessel with the required speed and controllability. The drive to the rudder propeller from the main diesel engines is carried out via a cardan transmission and an elastic coupling.
The vessel structure is reinforced with ice reinforcements for Arc 4 class.
The bow end is reinforced under the bow stops.
A hydraulic cargo crane-manipulator with a lifting capacity of 5 tons with a boom extension of 8.0 m is provided.
A hydraulic mooring and towing winch with a pulling force of 20 tons is used for towing operations. A stern roller with a diameter of 900 mm is provided.
For fastening international standard containers (TEU), container nests and eyes are installed on the main deck, a set of twistlocks is provided in the supply.
For carrying out auxiliary operations, the vessel is equipped with a RIB type workboat with a length of about 5 m.
The vessel is equipped with two bow anchors PDS.
The vessel crew is 7 people, the total number of seats on the vessel is 12.
The crew is accommodated in single cabins with individual bathrooms, five cabins have additional folding berths.
Living and utility spaces are located in the forward living cabin and the forecastle superstructure spaces.
The wheelhouse is designed with all-round visibility and allows one person to operate the vessel.
To combat fires on other vessels, the tug is equipped with a special water fire extinguishing system in accordance with FF3WS requirements. Water is supplied to the system from a special fire pump driven by the main engine.
Two monitors with a capacity of 300 cubic meters per hour and a jet length of more than 80 meters each are installed on the tank in the bow of the tug. The monitor nozzles are controlled remotely from the wheelhouse.
The lead ship of the TG17 project, Penai (building number 2100), was laid down on 11.09.15. Launched on 09.09.16. Commissioned on 11.11.16.
