Today, the sea minesweeper Ivan Antonov was laid down at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard in St. Petersburg. It became the third in the series of minesweepers of Project 12700 Alexandrite.
The ship design was developed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau. The minesweeper has a unique, the largest hull in the world (among warships) made of monolithic fiberglass, formed by the vacuum infusion method. The use of this technology allows to increase the service life of the ship and significantly reduce its magnetic field, which ensures safety during mine search and minesweeping.
