The Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) launched the second RST27 Project tanker for Caspian Marine Services Limited (CMS) on February 17, 2017.
Рioneer-2 is the second RST27 Project oil tanker built by the Sormovo shipyard for CMS (registered in the British Virgin Islands) under a contract concluded in April 2016. The first tanker of the project was launched in August and handed over to the customer in October last year.
According to the General Director of the Krasnoye Sormovo Plant, Nikolay Zharkov, the construction of the Pioneer-2 tanker is proceeding exactly according to schedule, the transfer of the vessel to the customer will take place with the opening of navigation after mooring and sea trials.
As noted by the executive director of the MNP Group Vadim Malov, for national shipping companies Caspian countries The Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard has built 21 vessels since 2003, most of which are river-sea tankers.
"Each of our new projects is more progressive and technologically advanced than the previous one. Increasing the level of oil and gas processing in the Caspian region entails technological changes in shipbuilding products. Thus, tankers of the modernized RST-27M project, which are currently being built at the shipyard, have improved characteristics for work at sea, as well as a number of technological innovations that meet modern requirements for the transportation of dangerous goods," said Malov.
The RST27 project tankers are self-propelled vessels of the Volga-Don Max class. The overall length of the vessel is 140.85 m, the width is 16.7 m, the height of the side is 6.0 m, the deadweight in the river (with a draft of 3.6 m) is 5378 tons, the deadweight at sea (with a draft of 4.2 m) is 6980 tons. These mixed (river-sea) navigation vessels are designed for the bulk transportation of crude oil and petroleum products, including gasoline, with the ability to simultaneously transport two types of cargo.
Vessel class: KM (*) Ice1 [1] R2 AUT1-ICS OMBO VCS ECO-S Oil tanker (ESP) of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. The classification project RST27 was developed by the Marine Engineering Bureau. The working design was performed by the Volga-Caspian Design Bureau.
