SSC Zvezda to build two NIS for the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences

SSK "Zvezda" (Shipbuilding Complex "Zvezda") will build two unlimited navigation research vessels for the Research Fleet Management of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. This was announced by the press service of PJSC "NK "Rosneft".

The new vessels are designed for fundamental and applied scientific research using state-of-the-art onboard and towed equipment. Their laboratories will enable real-time data processing.

Key specifications: - Ice class: **Arc4** - Length: **122.5 m** - Displacement: **8,130 tons** - Endurance: **50 days** - Range: **7,500 nautical miles** - Equipped with **helicopter landing pads**.

The vessel design was developed by **CDB "Lazurit"**. Such research ships have not been constructed in Russia for several decades.
