A closed working launch of the dry cargo vessel of the RSD59 Vladimir Latyshev project took place at Krasny Sormovo. This is reported by the company's press service. Despite the privacy of the event, it was decided not to abandon long-standing traditions. Godmother Kristina Latysheva traditionally smashed a bottle of champagne on board, noting: "The cargo ship is named after my grandfather, Vladimir Petrovich Latyshev, a man of honor and dignity. He was a participant in the war in Afghanistan and in many counter-terrorism operations in the North Caucasus. We are his family, friends, and colleagues.; We remember Vladimir Petrovich and are proud of him. I hope that the Vladimir Latyshev cargo ship will honorably bear the name of the Soviet and Russian officer."

The launched cargo ship became the third in a series of nine vessels being built by the Nizhny Novgorod enterprise on behalf of PJSC State Transport Leasing Company. The operation will be carried out by the shipping company Alfa LLC.The launch will be followed by completion on the water, which will be completed in the spring of 2021, followed by sea trials and transfer to the customer.
