State tests of the first serial large amphibious assault ship (BDK) of project 11711 "Peter Morgunov" are continuing at the Baltic Sea training grounds. As the press service of the Western Military District reported on November 7, the BDK crew, together with industry representatives, successfully completed the task of destroying a floating mine.
A 30-mm AK-630M artillery system was used to fire at the floating mine model. In the previous stages of the tests, the ship's crew fired at sea and air targets.
Recall that the Pyotr Morgunov BDK was built at the Baltic Yantar Shipyard according to the Nevsky Design Bureau project. The ship was laid down in June 2015, and launched in May 2018. The lead ship of Project 11711, Ivan Gren, was transferred to the fleet in June 2018.
