Tests of the rescue tug "SB-738" have been completed

The new Project 22870 rescue tugboat SB-738, designed for the Caspian Flotilla, has successfully completed the state testing program. This was reported by the press service of the Southern Military District.

“All tested mechanisms, systems and equipment of the vessel during state testing confirmed the characteristics declared by the developers and compliance with technical requirements,” says a message received by TASS.

This is the third vessel of this project built at the Astrakhan branch of the Zvezdochka Shipyard for the Navy. The first tugboat SB-45 successfully carries out assigned tasks as part of the Caspian Flotilla, the second tugboat, Professor Nikolai Muru, carries out search and rescue operations for the needs of the Black Sea Fleet.

The main purpose of the vessel is towing and removing ships and vessels from the sandbank, extinguishing fires on emergency ships (vessels) and coastal structures, evacuating people and providing medical assistance to rescued victims; supplying electricity to the emergency ship (vessel) and keeping it afloat; performing diving operations at depths of up to 60 m, as well as collecting oil products from the sea surface, performing search and survey work.
