The Astrakhan Ship Repair Plant (a branch of JSC Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center) launched the SB-739 rescue tugboat in a routine manner. the fourth vessel of Project 22870.
The vessel is designed to tow ships and vessels in distress, extinguish fires on ships, vessels, floating and coastal facilities, pump out water and supply power to a distressed vessel, evacuate people and provide medical assistance to victims, perform diving operations at depths of up to 60 m, conduct search and research work, and also collect oil products. The vessel design was developed by JSC “KB “Vympel”.
