Today in Vyborg, at PAO Vyborg Shipyard, the Aker ARC 130A icebreaking support vessel Alexander Sannikov, built for Gazpromneft Novy Port, was launched.
The icebreaking vessel project was developed by Aker Arctic Technology (Finland). The vessel is designed for ice navigation of tankers, assistance in mooring and loading operations, as well as for rescue operations, towing ships, extinguishing fires and participating in oil spill response operations. The vessel has an ice class Icebreaker8 and is capable of breaking through ice up to 2 meters thick.
