Pacific Fleet hospital ship Irtysh receives latest medical equipment

On the hospital ship "Irtysh" The Pacific Fleet (PF) has completed the second stage of modernization and installation of new medical equipment.

According to the state contract, the sea hospital and passenger ship has already received the latest X-ray and ultrasound systems, modern surgical and resuscitation equipment, laboratory equipment, anesthesiology equipment and the latest generation of life support systems.

In addition, this year, the hospital ship will receive telemedicine equipment, which will allow, together with leading specialists from the central hospitals of the Russian Ministry of Defense, to conduct operations online, as well as tele-training and consulting of military medical specialists at sea.

The tasks of the hospital ship are: receiving, distributing, providing medical care to the wounded, sick and injured in peacetime or during military operations; evacuating victims from ships and vessels; organizing events for the rest of the crews of ships and submarines at sea.

The hospital ship "Irtysh" is capable of receiving the wounded and sick both from the shore and at sea. For this purpose, two ladders, an electric crane for lifting six victims at once on a platform, a medical boat and a helicopter are provided on each side.

The medical unit is located directly in the middle of the ship to reduce pitching from rough seas. The air conditioning system provides favorable conditions in all areas of the ship.

The hospital consists of surgical, resuscitation, therapeutic, infectious, dermatological and admission departments, an intensive care unit, patient wards, an X-ray room, a diagnostic center, a pharmacy and a medical warehouse.

There are 100 beds for patients on board the ship, and up to 450 during mass patient reception. There are also 200 places for rehabilitation purposes. All medical facilities are equipped with the necessary equipment.

For general physical training, there are gyms and gyms for team sports (tennis, volleyball, mini-football) on board. The rehabilitation center includes a gym, a swimming pool, a bathhouse with a sauna, a shooting range, and a relaxation room.
