The launch of the working boat "Evgeny Vasiliev" took place at the Onega Shipyard

On February 21, 2017, the Onega Shipyard (Karelia) hosted the ceremonial launch of the ice-strengthened workboat Evgeniy Vasiliev of Project ST23WI-M for FSUE Rosmorport.

The launch ceremony was reportedly attended by Acting Head of the Republic of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Karelia Elissan Shandalovich, Deputy General Director for Fleet of FSUE Rosmorport Sergey Kurov, Director of the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant Vladimir Maizus and other officials.

During the event, the traditional ceremony of "christening" the vessel took place. According to naval tradition, the boat's "godmother" - Deputy Head of the Industry Sectors Department of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development Irina Shabalina - smashed a bottle of champagne on the bow of the vessel, thus marking the beginning of its "new life".

It is noted that launching the boat is one of the stages of its construction. The vessel is planned to be used in river mouths, coastal zones of open and inland seas, straits, port waters at a distance of no more than 20 miles from the place of refuge. The boat meets the most modern environmental and technological standards in the field of shipbuilding, has high maneuverability, modern means of communication and navigation, and a good level of habitability for the crew.

The boat is planned to be used in the Astrakhan branch of FSUE Rosmorport.
