On March 24, 2017, the Nizhny Novgorod plant Krasnoye Sormovo (part of United Shipbuilding Corporation) launched its twenty-second oil tanker of the RST27 project with a deadweight in sea/river of 7022/5420 tons, Volgotrans - 2701. It became the thirty-seventh vessel launched in this series.
The vessel is being built for the shipping company "Volgotrans"
The RST27 project was developed by the Marine Engineering Bureau.
The British Royal Institution of Naval Architects RINA twice included the RST27 project among the best ships of the year (Significant Ships of 2012 and Significant Ships of 2013).
The series of tankers with an increased coefficient of overall completeness of the RST27 project is the largest (after 1991) in the modern history of domestic shipbuilding Since 2012, 35 vessels have been built and commissioned.
The RST27 project vessels have a record overall completeness coefficient of 0.93, while the lead tanker showed a speed of 11.7 knots on the measured line with a shaft power of 2100 kW (0.875 of the main engine power) and a bow draft of 3.2 m and a stern draft of 3.3 m.
The contract deadweight of 6980/5378 tons was exceeded by 42 tons, the contract speed is more than a knot.
In comparison with other projects of the Marine Engineering Bureau, the tanker of the new RST27 project has an enhanced river function, an increased deadweight in the river by 732 tons (if compared with the "Armada") with:
Class of the Russian Maritime Register Shipping KM (*) Ice1 R2 AUT1-ICS OMBO VCS ECO-S Oil tanker (ESP).
Like other mixed-sailing tankers of the Marine Engineering Bureau, the RST27 project vessels use full-swing rudder propellers as a single means of propulsion and control, have a developed trunk, use cargo submersible pumps, they have no longitudinal bulkhead in the DP and a set in the cargo tanks.
The RST27 project vessels comply with the dimensions of the Volga-Don Shipping Canal and the Volga-Baltic Route. The overall length is 140.85 m, the width is 16.6 m, the side height is 6.0 m. They belong to the Volga-Don max class tankers.
The design takes into account the special requirements of Russian and international oil companies, additional environmental restrictions of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping class "ECO PROJECT" (ECO-S).
The RST27 project vessel is designed to transport crude oil and petroleum products with a density of up to 1.015 t/m3, including gasoline, without flash point restrictions, ensuring cargo transportation with a temperature of 50°C.
Simultaneous transportation of 2 (two) types of cargo is provided.
The capacity of six cargo tanks and two slop tanks is 8,100 cubic meters, deadweight at sea is 7022 tons with a draft of 4.20 m, in the river with a draft of 3.60 m - a record 5420 tons, speed in operation - 11.0 knots.
The cargo system is designed for the simultaneous transportation of two types of cargo, the capacity of the cargo pumps is 6-200 m3/hour. Two auxiliary steam boilers with a capacity of 2.5 tons/hour are installed.
Two medium-speed diesel engines with a capacity of 1200 kW each, running on heavy fuel with a viscosity of IFO380, are used as main engines. Bow thruster - 230 kW.
The power plant consists of three diesel generators of 292 kW each and an emergency parking diesel generator of 136 kW.
Crew - 12 people, seats - 14 + pilot.
Autonomy (at sea / in the river) - 20 / 12 days.
