Launch of a new boat at the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant

On June 9, 2017, at the Onega Shipyard in Petrozavodsk, a ceremonial launch of the ice-strengthened workboat "Kapitan Cheremnykh" (construction No. 105) for FSUE "Rosmorport" took place.

The vessel is intended for use for official and traveling purposes, delivery of commissions and crew members on board, cargo transportation, patrolling, inspection and environmental monitoring of water areas. In addition, "Kapitan Cheremnykh" can perform the functions of a pilot boat. Its seaworthiness will allow it to operate in difficult weather conditions in the open sea with waves up to 3.5 m high.

It will be used in river mouths, coastal zones of open and inland seas, straits, port waters at a distance of no more than 20 miles from the place of refuge.

Launching the boat is one of the stages of its construction. Then, outfitting work will be carried out afloat, mooring and sea trials will be carried out, after which the vessel will be put into operation.

"Captain Cheremnykh" is the fifth in a series of six ST23WIM project boats being built for FSUE Rosmorport at the Onega Shipyard.
