The first motor ship produced in the city in 30 years has moored from the bank of the shipping canal in Balakovo. This was reported by the press service of the Saratov Region Government.
The captain of the ship "Ediny" Alfred Muzafarov reported to the director of the plant Viktor Shchepilov about its readiness for operation. He, in turn, having received permission from the guests present at the ceremony, gave the command to cast off the mooring lines. The ship blew its horn and sailed away from the shore.
The dry cargo ship was laid down on January 25, 2012. The ship's hull was first launched on November 10, 2014. After that, the ship was equipped, the equipment was installed on it, and sea trials were conducted. This is the first ship built in Balakovo after a 30-year break.
The customer of the lead ship of the RSD60 project is the shipping company "Vega" and Evgeny Ediny.
The RSD60 project was developed by the Marine Engineering Bureau.
The vessel was built using a part of the hull of the “Nefterudovoz-16M” Project 1570, built in 1974 in Perm.
Vessels of Project RSD60 are designed for mixed (river-sea) and sea transportation of general, bulk, timber cargo, including international containers (TEU and FEU) and some dangerous goods.
The vessels comply with the dimensions of the Volga-Don Shipping Canal and the Volga-Baltic Route. The overall length of a vessel of Project RSD60 is 118.97 m, the width of the vessel is 13.0 m, the height of the side is 5.8 m.
The deadweight at sea is about 4608 tons with a draft of 4.88 m, in the river with a draft of 3.60 m - about 2705 tons, the speed in operation is 10.0 knots. The volume of three cargo holds is 5931 cubic meters. The draft in ballast is 2.81 m. The volume of ballast tanks is 1992 cubic meters.
Two medium-speed diesel engines with a capacity of 600 kW each, running on MDO diesel fuel with a flash point of over 60 degrees, are used as main engines.
Autonomy is 15 days.
Crew of 14 people (16 seats).
Currently, the city continues to build a second motor ship of the same project, named "Moguchy". It is planned to be completed in 2019.
