At the Inkerman production Site of the Sevastopol Marine Plant Branch of the Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation), metal cutting has started for the construction of the embedded section of a floating crane with a lifting capacity of 400 tons according to the CCB project"Coral". This is reported by the press service of the shipbuilding company.
The floating crane received the factory number 0001 and the official name PK-400 Sevastopol. As previously reported, the last floating crane in its history was built at the Sevmorzavod in 2005. In total, since the 1950s, more than 70 cranes with a lifting capacity from 50 to 1600 tons have been delivered to customers at the Sevastopol Marine Plant.
Sevastopol Marine Plant was founded in 1783. On March 30, 2015, the Government of Sevastopol, together with JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the aim of reviving the enterprise. Currently, a branch of JSC Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center is successfully operating at the production facilities of Sevmorzavod, which has already completed and continues to repair a number of ships and vessels. The main activities of the company; shipbuilding, ship repair, production of marine and general industrial equipment, mechanical engineering and manufacture of metal structures.
