The laying of the vessel took place on January 27, 2016. "Captain Guryev" became the fifth vessel of project 22870, built by Astrakhan shipbuilders according to the project of JSC "Vimpel Design Bureau" (Nizhny Novgorod). The lead tug of the project, Professor Nikolai Muru, was transferred to the Navy in 2014.
Ship characteristics: length 57 m, width 14 m, displacement 1200 tons, speed 14 knots.
The ship is named in honor of the Guard Captain Grigory Ivanovich Guryev, a participant in the Great Patriotic War. In October 1943, Grigory Guryev was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union for his courage and bravery during the crossing of the Dnieper and Pripyat. On November 15, 1943, Captain Guryev of the Guards died in battle.
