The second R/V for Irkutsk UGMS will enable more studies of the lake. It was built according to a project by Nizhny Novgorod shipbuilders in Irkutsk.
In the laboratories of the vessel, scientists will be able to conduct hydrobiological, hydrochemical, and microbiological research. The vessel is equipped with modern radio navigation equipment, allowing its operation at any time of day, as well as designed for use in negative temperatures in ice up to 20 cm thick. In addition to conducting research, the "Professor Voznesensky" will take on the responsibility of supporting remote stations located on the shores of the lake.
