In the next ten years, Russia will have to upgrade its fleet, increasing the number of ships from 1,700 to 2,000. The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) is expanding its production facilities and introducing new technologies to achieve this goal. This was announced by CEO of the corporation Andrey Puchkov at a meeting with deputies of the State Duma.
He spoke about the corporation's development strategy, approved in December 2024, and measures to support the shipbuilding industry, including the development of relevant legislation.
Much attention was paid to personnel training issues — USC actively cooperates with educational institutions, implements mentoring programs, supports employee families and increases wages.
The deputies noted the corporation's contribution to the development of civil and military shipbuilding in the face of sanctions pressure, as well as promising projects in the field of merchant marine.
At the end of the meeting, Puchkov stressed that USC would continue to cooperate with the State Duma to further develop domestic shipbuilding.
