As of May 31, the electric-powered passenger catamaran Ekokhod 2 has begun operating scenic cruises along the Kama River. The news was announced on June 3 by the press service of the cruise company Vodokhod.
According to the company, Ekokhod 2 will also serve the regular passenger route Perm I – Zakamsk – Perm I throughout the 2024 navigation season. Operational control of the vessel is carried out by Vodokhod Passenger Port JSC, a member of the Vodokhod Group.
It is expected that over 70,000 passengers will travel aboard the vessel during the 2024 season, contributing significantly to the development of eco-friendly river transport and tourism in the region.
The Ekokhod 2 was built at the Emperium shipyard, part of Sitronics Group, located in the Leningrad Region. It is the second vessel of the Ecocruiser project, a line of modern electric-powered sightseeing catamarans. The ship completed its maiden voyage in the Nizhny Novgorod Region in June 2023.
