The multipurpose seaport terminal Petrolesport, part of the Global Ports stevedoring group (under Delo Group), has begun servicing a new regular container shipping line connecting St. Petersburg with Kaliningrad. The announcement was made on May 21 by the company’s press service.
The route is operated by Kaliningrad-based logistics group Novik, utilizing its specialized container vessel Novik Maria. The ship has a capacity for 350 forty-foot and 60 twenty-foot containers, including 230 reefer containers. This allows for the transportation of a wide range of temperature-sensitive goods such as pharmaceuticals, dairy products, fresh fruits, and vegetables.
The Novik Maria set sail on its maiden voyage on May 9. Going forward, weekly calls at Petrolesport terminal are planned, providing a reliable logistical corridor between these two key Russian ports.
