"Vodohod" Announces the Construction of a Series of Hybrid Passenger Ships "Moscow 2.0"

The shipping company "Vodohod" has announced plans to build 25 hybrid passenger ships of the "Moscow 2.0" project. During the International Transport Forum and the "Transport Russia 2023" exhibition, the company's CEO, Rishat Bagautdinov, shared details of the project, noting that construction will begin in 2024 at the "Emperium" shipyard, part of the SItronics Group. This was reported by the company’s press service on November 17.

The "Moscow 2.0" project will feature hybrid power units, which will ensure high energy efficiency and environmental friendliness. The technical design of the vessel is already 80% complete, and the charging infrastructure for these ships is actively being developed in major cities such as Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Ufa, and Perm.

Developers emphasize that advanced materials and technologies have been used in the project, ensuring not only operational efficiency but also passenger comfort. The hybrid type of vessel will open up opportunities for operation in various regions of the country and under different weather conditions.
