The first production line of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant for the "Arctic LNG 2" project is expected to arrive at the "Utrenny" terminal in Ob Bay of the Kara Sea in August 2023. This was announced on June 6 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a strategic session on the development of the Northern Sea Route (NSR).
"The 'Utrenny' marine terminal in Ob Bay should receive the floating LNG production plant as early as August," Mishustin said, as quoted by the government's press service.
It should be noted that the production lines for the "Arctic LNG 2" plant are being built at the Center for the Construction of Large-Tonnage Marine Structures (CCLMS) of the company "Novatek" in the village of Belokamenka, Murmansk region. The equipment will be placed on gravity-based structures.
