During his visit to the Republic of India, Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, raised issues regarding the current state and future prospects of cooperation between Russia and India in key industries such as railway and heavy machinery manufacturing, aircraft construction, metallurgy, chemical industry, and shipbuilding. The meetings with Indian government officials were reported on April 18 by the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
The discussions focused particularly on enhancing trade and investment relations, as well as strengthening financial and industrial cooperation between the two countries. Denis Manturov invited India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, and Indian companies to participate in the "Innoprom" international industrial exhibition, scheduled to be held in Yekaterinburg in July 2023.
Additionally, the importance of accelerating the preparation of a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and India was emphasized, with the goal of boosting and diversifying trade between the two nations.
