Shipbuilders at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard named after A.M. Gorky (part of the Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation) have sent the first of two NE012 project escort tugs to the external acceptance base. The event took place on October 18, as reported by the shipyard’s press service.
The ceremony was held in a working environment. The General Director of the shipyard, Alexander Filipov, addressed the crew and acceptance team with parting words. Representatives of the shipyard’s workforce also attended the event.
At the external acceptance base, the tug will undergo all stages of sea and state trials required for final delivery to the customer.
It is worth noting that the first tug was launched into the water on July 18, 2022.
The NE012 project vessel is designed for towing non-self-propelled vessels and transporting cargo on its working deck, including operations in lightly fragmented ice of non-Arctic seas up to 0.5 meters thick.
