The branch of the Military Training and Research Center of the Naval Academy – the Rescue and Underwater Technology Institute – has started preparing for experimental diving operations, during which a new hardware complex for underwater welding and cutting will be tested. This was announced on October 18 by the Russian Ministry of Defense press service.
The tests will be carried out in several stages. First, divers will test the device’s capabilities at depths of up to 5 meters in a testing pool, followed by tests in a special pressure chamber, where conditions will simulate the pressures of 40 and 60 meters, depths at which work is permitted in light diving equipment. All work will be conducted in strict accordance with the experimental diving operation protocols.
Earlier, the hardware complex successfully demonstrated its performance during tests at depths of up to 30 meters.
