In 2021, Russian fishermen set a new record for fish catch, exceeding 5.05 million tons, which is 1.5% higher than in 2020. This result is the highest in the past three decades, surpassing the 2018 figure (5 million tons) and becoming the best since 1992.
Catch Distribution by Regions:
Far East — 3.55 million tons
Northern Basin — 541.3 thousand tons
Volga-Caspian Basin — 100.5 thousand tons
Western Basin — 78.63 thousand tons
Azov-Black Sea Basin — 64 thousand tons
The catch in international waters and foreign zones amounted to 657.3 thousand tons.
