Kerch, April 2025 — The B.E. Butoma Shipbuilding Plant (also known as the Zaliv Shipyard) has announced the large-scale modernization of its on-site oxygen station to establish high-purity medical oxygen production. This initiative aims to meet the growing regional demand for critical medical resources in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Once modernization is complete, the facility will be capable of producing medical-grade oxygen with a purity level ranging from 99.5% to 99.9%, fully compliant with healthcare standards. The plant previously operated the only oxygen station on the peninsula until 2005.
